Evaluation Question 3 - Audience Feedback

Here is an example of what someone might say about my products:

Conclusions i can draw from these results:

Poster: The vast majority of those that i asked recognised that my film was of the horror genre, so my attempts in conveying this were very successful.
The juxtaposition i used of the two faces was complimented as it really added to the effect.
Defying conventions worked well as people said that the landscape layout added movement and a cinematic feel
The main image was good because the editing and colour was a good quality and worked with the genre, also, her face draws attention from the viewer

Magazine: Using a popular film magazine layout (similar to Empire or Total Film) rather than one specifically for a horror film worked well because it's subtle for the genre but also helps bring a less popular genre into the mainstream meaning the film must be very good as its not a common genre to be displayed on this type of magazine.
About 80% of the people i asked correctly identified the target audience of 15-30. Other answers were similar e,g, 15-25 or 18-35 etc.
The layout of the magazine was complimented as it was simplistic and you knew what it was very easily and the hooks of cover lines "exclusive horror issue" and "film of the decade" helped entice the audience.
At the price of £3.50, most of the people i asked were willing to pay the set price, while some said they would pay less and depending on the content of the rest of the magazine, but i still feel i was successful as the majority said they would buy it.

Trailer: Comments from people i surveyed said that the ending of the trailer could have been more fast paced and with more action scenes, which i agree with, and if i were to do it again this would be my first change/improvement.
The sound was the most complimented part of my trailer as it really added to the effect and suited the horror genre while giving the trailer a really eerie atmosphere. Also, the boom drums and stings were very good at adding tension in the right places.
You get to see the protagonist a lot and it helps set the storyline, also, you can see her growing fearful throughout the trailer.
A lot of the people i asked said they would see the film in the cinema because the trailer has interested them and they now want to know what happens in the film, so in this way i think the trailer was very successful in doing what it was supposed to, advertising the film and enticing an audience.
The enigma/mystery also did well to add to this and make people wish to know what will happen next.

All: Tag line worked well to convey the storyline while keeping it ambiguous. Some thought there should have been more of the horror aspect and it might have not given enough away.
The camera angels and shots worked to make my product look quite professional without using gimmicks such as over photo-shopping images etc.

After going through my feedback i know what i would do if i went back to improve my work but i also know what i have done very well and i am quite proud of my products altogether.
